When we think of “playtime”, we reminisce about the good old days when we ran around in our homes and gardens with our friends and siblings -- our faces caked with dust, clothes smeared with food, and hearts full of joy. Back then, we defeated the enemies with our paper planes, painted the town red with our crayons, and built magnificent castles with just our imagination. And it is this very playtime which moulded our tiny brains and bodies and made us who we are today. Play teaches us so much: creativity, critical thinking, collaboration and problem-solving.

Our early experiences form the foundation of our lives. Quality early childhood development is key to a happy childhood and a thriving life, and there is only one mantra each parent needs to follow - Learning through Play. Researchers agree on a few key characteristics that make for a playful experience: it is joyful, socially interactive and engaging. But ask any parent and kid, and they'll just know it when they see it!

At Dost, we’ve been championing the cause of Learning through Play in our flagship early childhood program. Each day, thousands of low-income families across the country receive a minute-long phone call that walks them through a simple activity or game to bring play and quality early learning experiences to their young child’s life.

There is much more work to do to bring play into every household. And, what can be better than working with the “Masters of Play” to further our mission?

We are thrilled to announce that the LEGO Group is collaborating with Dost to take our early learning program across the country to impact the lives of 50,000+ children and families! LEGO is passionate about bringing Learning through Play to all children, knowing that play is the best way for children to learn and develop 21st century skills. We are humbled, honored, and extremely excited to bring #PlayEveryday to the families who need it the most.

Stay tuned for more updates on this collaboration.
